Diaspora Climate Engage
Engaging Diasporas in Climate Action: A Collaborative Global Project
The "Diaspora for Climate Action" (D4C) project, funded by the IOM Development Fund and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), aims to harness the power of diaspora communities in the UK to support climate resilience and sustainable development in their Countries of Origin (CoO) — Albania, Bangladesh, Ghana, and Jamaica. Over a 24-month period, the project will engage diaspora members in climate-related initiatives, enabling them to contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation in vulnerable areas identified by each CoO's strategic climate documents.
By fostering cross-border collaboration, establishing national and global steering committees, and developing innovative engagement tools, the project aspires to create a sustainable model for mobilizing diaspora contributions to climate action worldwide.
